Ticket Buyer Terms

DRAFT v0.1 — for solicitor review. Not legal advice and not yet in force. Jurisdiction: England & Wales.

These terms apply when you buy a ticket through tckt. tckt is operated by [tckt legal entity name] ("tckt", "we"), company number [00000000], [registered office], contact [help@tckt.co.uk].

1. Who you're buying from

1.1 When you buy a ticket, your contract for the ticket and the event is with the event organiser, not with tckt. tckt provides the technology that lists the event and processes your purchase on the organiser's behalf. tckt is not the seller, promoter or organiser of the event and does not guarantee any event will take place.

1.2 The organiser is named on the event page and is responsible for the event, its content, its entry conditions and its refund policy.

2. Your ticket

2.1 On purchase you receive a ticket with a unique QR code, by email and on-screen. Card payments are handled by Square; tckt never sees or stores your card details.

2.2 Keep your code private. Each ticket is valid for a single entry and is used the moment it is scanned at the door. If you share your QR code, someone else could use your ticket. tckt and the organiser are not responsible for tickets lost to sharing.

2.3 Tickets are for personal use and must not be resold, or transferred for profit or in the course of a business. The organiser may refuse entry to tickets obtained in breach of these terms.

3. Price and fees

3.1 The price you pay is shown in full before you confirm, including any booking fee. The event's ticket price is set by the organiser.

4. Refunds, cancellation and your consumer rights

4.1 The organiser sets the refund/exchange policy, shown on the event page. Refund requests are handled by, and are the responsibility of, the organiser.

4.2 If the organiser cancels or materially changes the event, you may be entitled to a refund from the organiser. tckt may help pass a refund through the platform but is not the party that owes it.

4.3 Your legal rights. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. Note that, under UK consumer law, the usual 14-day "cooling-off" cancellation right generally does not apply to tickets for events on a specific date — but your other rights, and the organiser's own policy, still apply.

5. Entry and conduct

5.1 Entry is subject to the organiser's conditions (e.g. age limits, ID, capacity, behaviour). The organiser may refuse or revoke entry in line with those conditions and the law.

6. Data

6.1 tckt processes your name, email and ticket details to deliver your tickets and support entry, on behalf of the organiser and as described in our Privacy Policy. The organiser decides how it uses your data for its own purposes (e.g. its own marketing) and is responsible for that.

7. tckt's liability to you

7.1 tckt provides the platform with reasonable care and skill. tckt is not liable for the event itself — its delivery, quality, cancellation or postponement — which is the organiser's responsibility. To the extent permitted by law, tckt's liability to you for the platform is limited, and nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (e.g. death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).

8. Law

8.1 These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales.
